PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Christmas shopping and ornaments have Parke County and local residents in the holiday spirit.
Visitors have the opportunity to enjoy exhibits, holiday shopping and scenery.
“The fact that we are able to open for the Country Christmas, it’s really been nice and there’s a lot of people who have mentioned that,” said Bridgeton Mill owner Mike Roe.
Parke County is a red county according to the COVID-19 risk metrics map. Some events have had to be cancelled due to COVID numbers such as their Covered Bridge Festival and their Christmas Market.
Though some events have been cancelled, shop owners decided to move forward with having the Bridgeton Country Christmas to help boost moral and give residents a reason to be cheerful going into the holidays.
Masks were required for all visitors.
“We really wanted to keep the spirit of Christmas alive and to help everyone celebrate and make it a nice festive year as best as we can so that there’s a little bit of normalcy,” said Susan Carr, 1878 house and barn owner.
The Bridgeton Country Christmas will continue Sunday November 28th and will pick back up on December 4th through the 6th from 10a.m. to 5p.m.
