BRIDGETON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Historical enthusiasts and locals just looking to take a step back in time are being invited to Bridgeton for their annual Civil War Days program.

The event gives visitors a chance to interact with actors who are playing roles like civil war soldiers, or civilians, as they educate visitors on what life was like between 1861 and 1865.

“See pioneer demonstrations and learn about Indiana history at the 1822 Case Log Cabin. Visit the 1878 House, the Liberty Tree Shop, and Old Barn New for crafts and antiques. Shop with vendors in the 1878 Barn, Collom’s Store, and the Artisan’s Barn at the Mill. Have lunch at Collom’s restaurant and don’t forget the cobbler!”

Reenactors will take part in drills and skirmishes between the Union and Confederate camps on both days. Visitors can meet and interact with Abe Lincoln as he tours the camp, and hear period-accurate music performances from Bill Robison as well.

There is no cost to attend the event, and organizers assure there will be plenty of free parking available.
