Robbers identified that were allegedly involved in three delivery driver thefts

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Terre Haute Police reported that officers responded to the robbery of a Jimmy John’s delivery driver late Thursday night, who was robbed of cash and food items.

Then early Friday morning at approximately 8:00 am, officers once again responded to a robbery of delivery drivers from Bob Evans Restaurant. This time they reported being robbed at gunpoint.

Police say during that time period, enough information was developed for detectives to obtain a search warrant at 1331 S. 7th St.

According to THPD’s Facebook Page, investigators were then notified and the Special Response Team was activated. Officers blocked off roadways in the immediate area and notified residents of surrounding homes to stay inside for their safety.

While the Special Response Team was still in route to the scene, two occupants of the address that were identified by the victims, came out of the building and surrendered to officers without incident. Both of the suspects were taken into custody on previous warrants.

Items connected to both robberies were found inside as well as evidence of a third delivery driver robbery that had occurred in September to a Pizza Hut employee.

The men were identified as Elias Garrett, 21, and Payton Wilson, 20, both of Terre Haute. They are both being charged with 3 counts of Armed Robbery. Their cases are pending in Vigo Co. Division 6 Court.
