BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Fourth of July festivities will begin this week in Brazil.

The Brazil Rotary Club will hold its 86th annual Independence Day celebration beginning Friday at Forest Park.

During the event, the community can enjoy concerts, golf tournaments and a carnival.

There will also be fireworks on Sunday, July 4, at 10 p.m.

Dave Crooks, the Brazil Rotary Club’s Entertainment and Publicity Chair, says he’s looking forward to seeing the community enjoy our country’s independence.

“Things are getting back to some kind of normality after what we’ve been through the past year plus. So, just to see a lot of families out enjoying what we’ve put on for so many years will be a positive. We should all celebrate not only the 4th of July and being a part of the greatest country in the world, but let’s get out and see each other, and visit, and celebrate America’s birthday,” Crooks said.

The celebrations begin Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Forest Park.
