BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – What started as a normal Sunday for a Brazil pastor turned into a big surprise as he walked into his church.
Rev. Gary Scroggins is the pastor of First Presbyterian Church. Like many other pastors, he’s been doing sermons virtually in an empty sanctuary, but that wasn’t the case Sunday morning. Pictures of church members were printed out and placed in the pews for Rev. Scroggins to have an audience.
He said the moment was an unforgettable one.
“And we’re united,” Rev. Scroggins said. “We use the term a ‘church family’ and, boy, that’s a church family that did that. You know, really, and I’m so grateful that they did that.”
Rev. Scroggins also dyed his hair blue in honor of a young member of his church who has cancer.
