BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – June 14 is Flag Day and to celebrate, the Brazil Elks Lodge #762 held their annual Flag Day program.

The program featured the posting of colors by the American Legion Post 2 Color Guard and a speaker from the 181st Intelligence Wing.

Organizers of the event said it’s a long standing tradition for them to host.

“For 112 years, every lodge across our country has celebrated the birth of our flag. Each year, the Brazil Lodge coordinates with the Greencastle Lodge and we take turns hosting, so this is our year,” Brandon McKinney, Lodge Secretary and Flag Day coordinator said.

This was the first event the Elks Lodge has hosted since re-opening as part of Governor Eric Holcomb’s ‘Back on Track Indiana’ plan.
