FAYETTE TOWNSHIP, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Update: As of noon Friday, Officials report this boil order has been lifted.

Original Report: The Fayette Township Water Association has issued a boil order for all of its customers.

The water supplier made the announcement on Monday and said the order will be in effect until further notice.

The CDC’s guidance for how to properly boil water during these situations is as follows;

•   Fill a pot with water.

•   Heat the water until bubbles come from the bottom of the pot to the top.

•   Once the water reaches a rolling boil, let it boil for 1 minute.

•   Turn off the heat source and let the water cool.

•   Pour the water into a clean container with a cover for storage.

As of Tuesday Afternoon officials with Fayette Township Water say the boil alert is ongoing. And are unable to estimate the time of restoration, saying it could last for a few days.
