TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Reach Services Board of Directors says the Pathways Day Center can open during cold weather as a warming center.
As previously reported, earlier this month the center was forced to close due to a lack of funding.
“It’s definitely a huge relief, not just to us, but to the clients we serve because they’ve been very fearful of the cold weather coming up,” says Reach Services Executive Director Sarah Chandler.
“There is the misconception that we are closed indefinitely,” Chandler added. “We are not closed indefinitely. This is temporary. We will get this reopened. It will reopen. The community needs this.”
Reach Services is in the process of collecting monetary donations as well as donated tents, sleeping bags and other items for when the cool weather hits. There is a drop-off location at Reach Services.
