TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Big changes are in store for this year’s Blues at the Crossroads Festival in Terre Haute.

The 22nd annual event will take place on September 9 and 10, and will feature 2 outdoor stages, an indoor stage, and a kids zone. Organizers say this year’s festival is about twice as large as past festivals when it comes to geographic space used.

One change for this year’s show will be that there won’t be any food vendors present. Instead, organizers are encouraging festival attendees to patronize the many local brick-and-mortar restaurants near the festival.

Proceeds from the festival benefit an effort called Music Is Key which provides instruments and music lessons to local children.

I think the second year that we had this program, we got a guitar to a little girl named Emma. She was in the third grade, then three years ago she actually played here in her band and she was the lead singer.
