WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Wabashiki area will be a busy place on Saturday.

Two Bike the Wabashiki events are scheduled, for 10:30 a.m. and noon. Lori Danielson, civic leader and CEO/founder of GoTime Coaching, will lead the 10:30 trek; former Indiana State University president Dan Bradley will guide bikers on the noon excursion.

Bikers are advised to assemble a little ahead of the start times, at 65 S. Schley Pl. in West Terre Haute. This event is sponsored by Riverscape, a nonprofit group working to make the Wabash River a family and tourist destination.

Additionally, the family-friendly event Explore Wabashiki is scheduled from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Kid-friendly events such as a scavenger hunt and rock painting, guided bicycle rides, birdwatching and hikes will be among the available activities. Riverscape, the Vigo County Department of Parks and Recreation and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources will host this event.
