TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The community raised money Sunday for two people seriously hurt in a crash last weekend.
Lonnie and Denise Soliday of Terre Haute were on their motorcycle last Saturday when they were hit by a side-by-side in Farmersburg.
Lonnie was flown to Indianapolis and Denise was taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
They’re doing better, but those close to them said having the benefit is to help them during their time of recovery
The benefit dinner held at Stephen’s Inn was completely free, with donations accepted.
Organizers said they’re grateful for how the community is showing up.
“This really truly means something to kind of turn around and help them out, and give them helping hand,” said Anna Soliday.
The fundraising goal is $10,000.
