SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A man was arrested for armed robbery, Thursday at around 11:20 a.m. in Merom.
Sullivan County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Copeland was called to Merom to remove an unwanted guest, who was reportedly armed with a razor blade. When he arrived, Deputy Copeland identified the individual as John Grimes of Merom, according to a Facebook post from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office.
The owner of the property asked for Grimes to be removed from the property because he was being aggressive.
Deputy Copeland called dispatch to check for active warrants on Grimes. He was then informed that Grimes had an active warrant for Armed Robbery out of Illinois.
Grimes was taken to Sullivan County Jail where he awaits extradition to Illinois.
