TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Why Make Waves, a local organization supporting aquatic wellness in Vigo County, hosted a luncheon and auction Wednesday at the Country Club of Terre Haute.
Attendees enjoyed a runway style show, cash games and more. According to event organizers, around $25,000 was raised at the event.
With the help of past fundraisers, the organization has now raised $40,000 in total. The money will help aid aquatic programming at the Vigo County YMCA.
“There needs to be programming that is developed and we hope to be able to do that with this money and with a future of an aquatic center in this community,” Brenda Williams, president of Why Make Waves, said.
