TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Organizers said over 9,000 people were served Thursday at First Congregational Church’s annual Strawberry Festival.

The event happened at the corner of 6th and Ohio Streets in downtown Terre Haute.

Proceeds went to support the church’s programming.

The event in 2021 was drive-through only so organizers said it was refreshing to have so many people attend in-person.

“You can see how special it really is, and it’s special to everybody,” Libby Wyrick, chair of the Steering Committee said. “We are so happy that the pandemic is almost over or at least we know how to deal with it now, and I hope everybody feels safe here and we continue to do it this way.”

Attendees were also able to listen to live music and tour the church.
