TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The annual Fowler Park Christmas Walk is set to take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. this Friday and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. this Saturday in southern Vigo County.

During the event, volunteers will show attendees what life was like during the pioneer times, in the park’s Pioneer Village. Aside from watching demonstrations on past life, cookies, coffee and hot cocoa will be for sale outside of the Fowler Park Log Barn.

Sean Sluyter, Natural Resource Programmer with the Vigo County Parks Department, said Fowler Park’s events would not be possible without the work of all the volunteers they have.

“We have a great volunteer group with the Fowler Park Village,” Sluyter said. “They help really support us. There’s probably about 25, 30 members. They are key and they help take care of our cabins and they help put on these events as they have them.”

Admission to the park and the event is free. To volunteer, contact the Vigo County Parks Department.
