Ambulance stolen from Regional Hospital; suspect hospitalized in Vincennes for injuries

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — A 25-year-old Terre Haute woman accused of stealing an ambulance from Terre Haute Regional Hospital was hospitalized in Vincennes after she cut herself, according to Terre Haute police.

Sullivan County deputies spotted the stolen ambulance, which led to a chase ending in Knox County after stop sticks were deployed.

An Evansville Trooper applied a tourniquet to the woman’s wound before she was transported to a nearby hospital.

Police said they will not release her name at this time do to HIPAA regulations; however, the case will be under review by prosecutors in Vigo, Sullivan and Knox counties according to authorities.
