Active Day members ‘thank you’ host lunch for first-responders

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Active Day adult daycare members chose Patriot’s Day to honor area first responders.

“So today, going on here at our center, we wanted to be able to thank our first responders, police officers, fire men and women in our community, and say ‘thank you, we appreciate you for all you do,’ and invite them into our center on this day that we do remember,” said Miki Lynschutt, area directory.

A grab-n-go lunch was provided to the first responders, giving them a chance to come in, visit with members and grab a quick lunch before heading back to work.

Area firefighters stopped by to talk to members about fire safety.

Members made decorations such as American flags and hung red, white and blue balloons in commemoration of 9-11, noted activity assistance Josie Maples.
