TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Terre Haute police said a reported accidental discharge of a handgun lead to the death of man in Terre Haute.

At approximately 4 pm today, police said the female driver of a vehicle called 911 and reported that she accidentally shot her husband while moving a handgun inside the moving vehicle. When officers arrived they found an unresponsive male identified as 33-year-old Taylor Long in the front seat.

The vehicle was parked on the northside of the Big Red Liquors Store. Long was taken to Regional Hospital, but did not survive.

Police said they will continue to investigate this case fully.
