UPDATE: N. 13TH Street has reopened.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Firefighters responded to a structure fire overnight at North 13th Street and Liberty Avenue in Terre Haute.

Chief Bill Berry of Terre Haute Fire Department said the first alarm came in at 9:45 p.m. A second alarm came in shortly after that. Firefighters made an interior attack to combat the fire but the conditions quickly worsened as the fire broke through the roof. They decided to evacuate the building and make a defensive attack.

Vigo County 911 asked people to stay clear of that area while firefighters were working.

No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
