A former dormitory on ISU’s campus is coming down

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Demolition is underway on an old dormitory complex on Indiana State University’s campus.

The Lincoln Quad was built in 1969 and served the university for 50 years, but had reached the end of its usefulness.

Director of University Communication Mark Alesia says ISU decided not to renovate it for several reasons including difficult ADA access and small room sizes. He also cited the fact that ISU has had other residence hall renovations and additions in recent years.

Demolition started in November and the project is expected to be complete in summer of 2021.

Alesia says the site will become an open, multi-purpose green space.
