43 hypodermic syringes found during Clay County traffic stop

CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A traffic stop Monday evening led to the discovery of 43 hypodermic syringes and other drug-related items in Clay County, according to Indiana State Police.

Jon D. Pastorius, 29, of Brazil, was driving on I-70 near the 19 mile-marker when he was pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt and failing to display a registration plate. An Indiana State Police K-9 led troopers to discover the syringes as well as methamphetamine in Pastorius’ possession.

Pastorius was arrested and taken to the Clay County Jail where he is currently being held. He faces multiple drug-related charges as well as charges for being an habitual traffic violator.
