SEELYVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Brazil woman has been arrested after police say she left the scene of a crash while driving intoxicated.
According to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office., the crash occurred at 1:44 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2 at the intersection of US 40 and N. Main Street in Seelyville.
Investigating deputies determined that a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Jennifer M. Yockey of Brazil failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle driving on US 40.

The crash injured the driver of the other vehicle enough to need to be flown to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment, a passenger in the same vehicle was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for their injuries.
Yockey was also taken to a local hospital for treatment. Once cleared, Yockey was placed under arrest and taken to the Vigo County Jail.
Sheriff Plasse said Yockey was preliminarily charged with the following
- Leaving the scene of a crash resulting in serious bodily injury while intoxicated
- Operating a vehicle while intoxicated with bodily injury
- Operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a controlled substance in the body.
