VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A police pursuit that began in Terre Haute and moved into Knox County where the suspect crashed their vehicle ended in the arrest of a Farmersburg man.
According to Vigo County Sheriff John Plasse, the pursuit began on Erie Canal Rd at 9:35 p.m. Wednesday when a deputy pulled over Jacob Greggs, 42, of Farmersburg. After learning that Greggs was wanted on a felony warrant out of Vigo County for battery by bodily waste on a law enforcement officer, Greggs reportedly took off with police following behind in pursuit.
Plasse said the pursuit traveled south into Sullivan County where an officer was able to deflate the tires of Greggs’ Toyota through the use of stop sticks, however, the man continued to flee into Knox County.
Once in Knox County, the vehicle reportedly crashed into a ditch. Pursuing law enforcement officers were then able to take Greggs into custody without further incident.
Greggs was then taken to the Vigo County Jail on charges of felony resisting law enforcement, criminal recklessness, reckless driving, and the felony warrant.
The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, West Terre Haute Police Department, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, and Indiana State Police assisted in the incident.
