TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Pride Center in Terre Haute says about 2,000 people attended the first-ever Pride Festival in Terre Haute.

The event took place on Saturday and included over 60 vendors, a business expo and entertainment.

The Pride Center which works to decrease isolation among the LGBTQ+ community just celebrated its one year anniversary on Sunday.

The center’s president says she was overwhelmed by the community’s support.

“It was great. I couldn’t have asked for anything better,” Nichelle Campbell-Miller said. “I think everybody had a lot of fun, and [we were] super excited to have our first-ever pride event here in Terre Haute.”

She says they look forward to holding more pride festivals in the future.
