TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — 1,425 graduates celebrated their milestone achievement during the Ivy Tech Community College commencement ceremony Thursday.

Students of both the Terre Haute and Greencastle campuses as well as their family and friends gathered in the Hulman Center at Indiana State University Thursday evening to mark the occasion.

Ivy Tech said that the 1,425 students earned 1,881 credentials in their time at the school. The Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering, and Applied Science division had the largest number of graduates with 352, with the Arts, Sciences, and Education division graduating the second most with 339 students earning their credentials.

“The 2023 graduates include more than 170 high school students who have earned a combined total of 381 college credentials. The Indiana College Core (ICC) technical certificate accounted for approximately 30% of the credentials earned by high school students this year,” an Ivy Tech news release read.

Abby Noblitt was the keynote speaker during the commencement. Noblitt is a 2021 Ivy Tech graduate who completed her bachelor’s degree at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. Noblitt was also recognized as Ivy Tech’s 2023 Distinguished Alumni.

Additionally, this year Ivy Tech recognized 30 Vigo County high school students who participated in the mini agriculture studies certificate program.
