One of the event organizers, Delilah Rixner, joined David Shepherd on WTWO 6:30 Today to talk more about revitalization efforts in 12 Points and the upcoming First Friday Series.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The 12 Points neighborhood continues revitalization efforts, attracting new businesses, and events to the community.

One of those events is the upcoming First Friday series. It will feature art, music, and fun for the whole family. Organizers say it will be a monthly celebration in the heart of the 12 Points historic district.

“First Fridays have been going on since June. They are a really great celebration of all of the local vendors that we have in town, some local food trucks. This time, we’ll have some local bands as well. It’s really just trying to bring more community up to 12 Points,” said Delilah Rixner, the event organizer. “I always tell people it never hurts to come and check it out. There are so many people in this town that do creative things, and there’s so much information you can get and, it’s just a great way to feel more immersed in your community.”

The First Friday event takes place on August 4 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gold Medal Park on Lafayette Avenue.
