1 person taken to hospital after 2-vehicle crash in Lawrenceville, IL

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — One person was taken to the hospital following a 2-vehicle crash Saturday night in Lawrenceville, Ill.

According to Illinois State Police, preliminary crash investigation shows that a black SUV was traveling southbound on 4th St. near Collins Ave. when, for unknown reasons, the car ran off the roadway to the left.

A second vehicle was parked unoccupied in a driveway on 4th St., and was hit by the SUV.

Due to the impact of the SUV, the second vehicle spun into the northside of a nearby home. The SUV then hit the westside of the home, causing damage to the front porch.

The driver of the SUV, 34-year-old Maryann Nusz from Sumner, Ill. was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Nusz was also charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and driving under the influence.

No one else was injured in the crash.
