TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A 17-year-old and an 18-year-old are in custody and another person is hospitalized following a shooting in Terre Haute Friday afternoon.

Javiear M. Jamerson, 17, and Damien W. Swinson, Jr., 18, both of Terre Haute, are facing charges including aggravated battery, robbery and resisting law enforcement after police responded to a report of a male shooting victim in the area of 15th and Walnut streets. Jamerson, who was booked as an adult, also faces charges of pointing a firearm.

The victim is being treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries, according to Terre Haute Police Chief Shawn Keen.

“I would also add that I am very proud of the work done by the officers and detectives over the last 12 hours,” Keen said. “They have resolved very serious incidents quickly and without further injury to any parties.”
