VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A single vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 70 resulted in one person being flown to an Indianapolis hospital after they were ejected from the back window of their pick-up truck.
According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames, the crash occurred at the 1 mile marker on I-70 westbound mid-day Wednesday.
Investigating police said a pick-up truck had been traveling westbound on I-70 when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle left the roadway and entered the median. The truck then began to roll over multiple times causing the driver, a 46-year-old Dennison, Illinois man, to be ejected out of the back window.
Ames said the driver was taken by ambulance to Regional Hospital, and was expected to then be flown to Indianapolis for treatment of their injuries.
