SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A two-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon on US-41 sent both drivers to the hospital after one vehicle rolled over.
According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames, the collision occurred when a driver headed west attempted to cross a median on US-41. While attempting to turn, the driver hit another vehicle who was headed north on US-41 near County Road 600 South.
The driver of the first vehicle hit the rear of the second, Ames said, causing the second car to roll over. The driver of the rolled over vehicle was flown to an Indianapolis hospital, Ames said, where they are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the first vehicle also suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to Ames, and was taken to Sullivan County Community Hospital for treatment.
Deputies shut down northbound traffic temporarily to allow the helicopter to land.
