VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A man was rescued by witnesses after a tractor rolled over on him while cutting grass.

That’s according to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, who said a call came into dispatch at 12:52 p.m. Friday of an injured person in the area of E. Harlan Drive and Bruner Street in southern Vigo County.

Witnesses told responding deputies that they had heard a man yelling for help and found him stuck under a tractor that had overturned while mowing. The Good Samaritans were able to free the man from under the tractor before deputies arrived.

While responding medical teams administered care, an IU Health LifeLine helicopter would be called to transport the injured man to a hospital due to his injuries.

The Sheriff said his condition is unknown at this time.

Honey Creek Fire, TransCare Ambulance and the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
