GREENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – One Monroe County Sheriff’s Sergeant was injured and had his patrol vehicle damaged in a Greene County pursuit that ended in Monroe County.

At approximately 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, A Chevy Suburban driven by Cody Reeves fled Greene County Sheriff’s Deputies. Reeves reportedly drove through a yard on Lawrence Hollow Drive and attempted to hit a Sheriff’s Deputy vehicle head on that was responding to the pursuit.

Reeves then fled eastbound on E State Road 445 then northbound on N State Road 45.

The pursuit continued into Monroe County where he’d drive through a Circle K parking lot, then lead deputies into a Walmart parking in Bloomington.

While driving through parking spaces in the Walmart, Reeves struck a Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy patrol vehicle and came to a stop. Monroe County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brooks sustained right hand and arm injuries due to the collision. Sgt. Brooks was treated for his injuries at Monroe Hospital and was released.

Reeves was taken into custody without further incident.

Reeves had an active warrant through Lawrence County for Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, Driving While Suspended and Reckless Driving.

Reeves is being charged in Greene County with Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon, Driving While Suspended Prior, and Reckless Driving. He will face multiple charges in Monroe County as well.
