SULLIVAN County Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Update: Sullivan County Sheriff Jason Bobbitt has identified the deceased in this crash as Larry Gene Miller, 56, of Sullivan.
Original: One person was killed in a motorcycle crash early Saturday morning in Sullivan County.
According to a post by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at the intersection of County Road 300N and Mary Sherman Drive just before 2 a.m. on Saturday. An off-road vehicle drove left of the center lane, striking a motorcyclist head-on. The driver of the motorcycle was flown to a hospital, where he died. The identity of the victim has not been released pending family notification.
22-year-old Emmitt Forbes of Sullivan was arrested following the crash. According to police, he took a chemical test which revealed his blood-alcohol level to be .22%. He was charged with reckless homicide, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing death and reckless driving causing death, all felonies in Indiana. He was also charged with OWI and driving left of center.
