TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A senior at Terre Haute South Vigo High School who developed a mobile app is receiving a prestigious award.
Samuel Ford developed an app called Terre Haute South. It’s an informational app that allows students, parents and staff to find events, announcement and more.
He learned how to make the app for both Android and iOS, and says it took about 100 hours to complete.
Now, his app has won him the Congressional App Challenge award for Indiana’s 8th District.
This means he’ll get to go to Washington DC to show his app to corporations and members of Congress.
“Just amazing the opportunities that it’s really given me because I’m going to DC and getting to present my app to all these companies and members of Congress. It’s just a huge honor,” says Ford.
He also won the IUPUI mobile app competition back in October.
