TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Valentine’s Day is just over a week away and businesses are ready to help make the day special for local people.
Workers at Maggie and Moe’s Poplar Flowers and Decor Shop in Terre Haute are ready to fulfill dozens of orders.
They have received about 70 orders for Valentine’s Day so far and expect it to get even busier between now and February 14.
While most people think of couples on Valentine’s Day, the shop owner says it’s a holiday for everyone.
“Some of the most special arrangements or deliveries that we make are for others: friends, family, children, just to kind of surprise them and let them know you’re thinking about them because it’s about all the people who are special to you,” says Molly Barrett.
Barrett says red roses are by far the most common order they receive. Another popular color is yellow, which symbolizes friendship. However, a lot of people just order whatever color they like best.
