TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Benjamin Elementary School hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday to unveil their new book vending machine.
The vending machine was purchased through a grant provided by United Way.
Students can collect their favorite books from the vending machine by using golden tokens. They will receive these tokens from their teachers based on attendance.
“This has been really exciting for us and as the media specialists books are my life so anything that is going to encourage them to get more books in hands and to see them excited about it at the same time, that’s a big deal for me too so I’m thrilled with this whole process,” Amber Wigington said.
Faculty hopes the vending machine will motivate students’ excitement for school.
