This is the second day in a row, volunteers stood in front of the Terre Haute Salvation Army collecting items for Hurricane Irma and Harvey.
Today, volunteers collected nonperishable items, and cash donations to help toward hurricane efforts.
So far the group has collected 600 hundred dollars and one man even donated his three rental houses for evacuees to stay during relocation.
“This is crucially important because others in the country need assistance,” Jessica Heagy said. “There are still people stranded and there’s still people without anything. Everybody in communities should be coming together across the nation to help these people. They’re getting absolutely devastated.”
If you still like to donate the group will have a booth at Terre Haute National Night out Tuesday night from 5 to 8.
