TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Volunteers with the Vigo County CASA Program enjoyed a spa day on Wednesday.
CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, hosted an event called Moments of Magic.
They turned the Vigo County Council chambers into a spa, pampering the ladies of the program with manicures and massages.
Vigo County CASA Director Glenna Cheesman says it’s a small way of showing appreciation to these volunteers who do so much.
“There’s never a big enough thank you that you could put into the world to say thank you to all of our volunteers who work in a very dark part of our society. For them to be able to do this, and do this as volunteers, is even more amazing,” says Cheesman.
These volunteers advocate for abused and neglected children in the court system. Vigo County CASA is in desperate need of volunteers.
Right now, they only have 56 volunteers and 140 children on a wait list.
If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer, you can apply online.
