TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – An organization that helps those in need says it is seeing the economic impact COVID-19 is having on the Wabash Valley.
Terre Haute Catholic Charities has been distributing food and hygiene products to students and families.
The agency held its third distribution Thursday outside of Terre Haute South High School.
It’s a drive-through set-up that causes little interaction to keep everyone safe. The food and items are also pre-packaged.
The agency just wants the community to know they’re here to help.
“What we’re seeing now are a lot of families who have never had to ask for help before. The impact that COVID is having on their jobs and their families, they’re needing to ask for help for the first time and our hope is that we’re making them comfortable and feel welcomed to come back, and ask for help,” says development assistant Jessica Murphy.
Catholic Charities posts updates about when these distributions will be on their Facebook page.
