Lincoln Trail College student killed

We learned that the Illinois woman who was killed in a semi versus vehicle accident this morning on Route 1 in Marshall was a Lincoln Trail College student and member of the softball team.

The college released the following Facebook post:

“It is with great sadness that we must share with you that the Lincoln Trail College family lost one of our members today – Audria Truelove. The college has made grief counseling available to our student athletes through the Highland Church of Christ and First United Methodist Church. Counseling services will also be available on campus on Monday for students, faculty & staff. Our thoughts are with all those impacted – Audria’s teammates, her classmates and instructors, and most especially her family.”

The softball team’s Facebook page posted the photo below asking the community for their prayers.

According to the Illinois State Police 20 year old Audria Truelove, of Martinsville, Illinois was traveling behind a semi-truck driven by 39 year old Rahshawn Jordan of Maryland.

When Jordan slowed down due to feeling ill, ISP says Truelove did not slow down and struck the back of the trailer, causing the fatal accident.

Jordan was driving with a passenger, 56 year old Frederick Patterson of Indianapolis.

Jordan’s and Patterson’s status is unknown at this time.

The crash did cause ISP to block off State Route 1 in both directions for several hours.
