BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A human rights coalition will hold a nationwide vigil Friday “to protest the inhumane conditions faced by migrants,” with one such event happening right here in the Wabash Valley.
The Clay County Detention Center located at 611 E. Jackson Street in Brazil, Ind. was listed as one of the 600 locations on five continents that activists and other interests parties will gather for “A Vigil to End Human Concentration Camps” hosted by a group called Lights for Liberty.
The Clay County Detention Center serves as a detention center for ICE.
Friday’s events will begin at 7 p.m. with speakers planned to address the issue. At 9 p.m., participants will light candles.
