The Terre Haute Police Department got some extra help Friday thanks to two local girls.
10-year-old Aubree Stephens and 4-year-old Nora Frost set up a lemonade stand at Advantage Plus Federal Credit Union on Fruitridge.
They were raising money for the police department’s K-9 unit.
The girls put a lot of effort into the fundraiser and told us why it’s so important.
“Because the dogs can help the police very well in case they get sick or they’re hurt,” says Nora.
“We stayed up all night doing our posters and then we woke up really early to get a head start on the day, and make sure it’s going to be a good day,” says Aubree.
Advantage Plus Federal Credit Union matched the money the girls raised.
If you missed the lemonade stand, the credit union will continue collecting donations through July and August. They will match every dollar donated.
