Judge sentences man to 55 years for Terre Haute murder

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A Terre Haute man is sentenced to more than five decades in prison for murder.

A Vigo County judge sentenced Clarence Bell, Jr. to 55 years in prison Friday morning, with credit for jail time served.

Bell was convicted in the 2018 shooting death of Ray Rose in Terre Haute.

Police said they found bullets in Bell’s home that matched the one found in Rose and that surveillance video showed Bell’s truck driving near the crime scene during the time of the murder.
