(WTHR) JCPenney announced plans Friday to close 138 stores and two distribution facilities as part of a plan to save money.
The liquidation process begins on the 17th of April, with most of the stores closing in June.
While 5 stores will be closed in Indiana, the JCPenney in Honey Creek Square in Terre Haute will remain open.
The closing will take place in Columbus, Connersville, Huntington, Jasper and Logansport.
Six stores will also shut down in Illinois including the one at the Village Square mall in Effingham.
The others in Illinois are Bloomington, Canton, Macomb, Peru, and Woodbridge.
