VIGO Co., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Indiana State University Track and Field team, took Sunday day to make one of their practice areas more beautiful.
The group teamed up with Riverscape to clean the Wabashiki Fish and Wildlife area in West Terre Haute. The effort was started to preserve the area.
The track and field team uses the wetland area often for their running grounds.
They said it’s important to them to make sure it’s taken care of.
“What were trying to ingrain in our team. Is to be good people and you know the world is our home and we have to try and keep it clean keep it fresh for the people that are coming after us,” said Angela Martin, director of the Indiana State Track and Field and Cross Country.
A Wabashiki Open House will be held on October 10th.
