Indiana State Police continue to patrol from the air and they’re starting to see some good results.
For the fifth time in recent weeks, ISP Sergeant Lee Wright from the Putnamville District took to the skies in his Cessna 1-72 Skyhawk.
He looked for speeding and driving violations.
But this time, from 2 to 5 P.M. Tuesday, he kept his eye on U.S. 41 in southern Sullivan county.
Lee’s patrol resulted in 19 traffic citations, (16 of those were related to speeding) and there were 29 traffic warnings. The highest speed of the afternoon was 85 mph in a 60 mph zone.
Indiana State Police officials say they will increase their aircraft patrols by the start of 2018.
