Indiana State Police troopers inspect local school buses

News

FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – As children across the Wabash Valley get ready to return to school, districts are making sure their buses are in tip-top shape.

Indiana State Police inspects school buses at districts across the state.

On Tuesday, troopers were at North Central High School where they checked buses for the Northeast School Corporation.

They inspect the buses front to back, top to bottom. School officials say you can’t underestimate the safety of kids.

“They haul all of our kids everyday. More bus drivers come in contact with more kids than most of us do and ensuring that the roads today are safe, as well as the transportation taking them to and from school, is very important,” says J.T. Roberts, Director of Transportation.

Roberts says troopers checked 18 buses. The Northeast School Corporation goes back to class on August 7.
