Indiana Primary Candidates talk Politics with Vigo County Residents

News

Next month Hoosiers will be hitting the polls to cast their ballots in the 2018 Indiana Primary Election.

But Tuesday night was all about the candidates. Several of them stopped by the Wabash Valley to talk about the issues and generate support.

Several Indiana State Representatives and other potential candidates attended a “Candidates Forum”at the Vigo County Public Library on Tuesday night. It was hosted by the League of Women Voters of Terre Haute.

Several candidates look to replace State Representative Clyde Kersey who’s retiring this year.

But organizers say the real goal of tonight was for candidates to inform voters about the candidates and what each candidate plans to do if they get elected.

“We’ve had races that are very close, and just a few numbers can make a difference. And we want to let the public know, that one vote can make a difference. We also know that Vigo County is quite low in voter turnout, so we’d like to change that.” – Carolyn Callecod / Pres. League of Women Voters

Just a reminder to all voters: the Indiana Primary Election will take place on May 8th and the General Election is November 6th.
