PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — More than 400 traffic stops led to six arrests during an Indiana State Police Putnamville post saturation patrol over the past weekend.

According to a release from ISP Putnamville post, the goal of the patrol was to target aggressive and impaired drivers.

The Putnamville post reported the following numbers related to the increased patrol period;

  • 441 traffic stops
  • 414 warnings issued
  • 163 traffic arrest
  • 6 DUI arrest 
  • 3 Possession of Methamphetamine
  • 8 Possession of Marijuana
  • 4 Wanted on Warrant
  • 6 Possession of Paraphernalia
  • 2 Minor Consumption

Meanwhile the ISP Evansville district reported that Knox County held a similar saturation patrol period between Sept. 9 and 10. During which 128 traffic stops led to the arrest of 5 people for driving under the influence.

Those five arrests were as follows;

  • Arsenio Smith, 32, Princeton, IN
  • Ronald Ragon, 63, Lawrenceville, IL
  • Tambra Lewis, 66, Vincennes, IN
  • Brandon Armstrong, 24, Loogootee, IN
