BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — 19 arrests were made as part of saturation patrols operated by the Indiana State Police Bloomington district over the holiday weekend.
ISP said the patrols focused on targeting aggressive, distracted, and impaired drivers on Friday and Saturday.
On top of the arrests, 308 traffic stops were initiated over the two days with 96 citations written and 212 warnings given.
Of the arrests, nine were for operating while intoxicated including three that were arrested for operating while under the influence of a schedule I or II controlled substance. Two arrests for possession of marijuana, five for minor consumption, and three arrests for possession of a fake ID.
Troopers thanked the Bloomington Police, Ellettsville Police, IU Police, and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department for assisting in the efforts.
